About Saunas in Ireland

In a few short years Ireland went from a handful of hotel saunas to hundreds of little wood-fired saunas on beaches, piers and riverbanks. Finding one still mostly means scrolling Instagram and hoping. This site puts them all in one place, county by county.

Who's behind it

Ciaran Aherne. Ciaran built Saunas in Ireland to answer one question properly: where can I go for a sauna and a cold plunge near me this weekend?

How venues get listed

We list public saunas and ice bath venues you can book. That leaves out private homes and hotel spas kept for residents. There are 219 on the site today. Listings are free, and no venue can pay to change what we say about it.

Every listing is checked against the venue's own website or social channels. Where we haven't confirmed the details directly yet, the listing says so. Either way, we'd suggest checking a venue's booking page before you travel, because small saunas move, change hours and close for the winter.

How the site is funded

Right now, it isn't. In future we may show clearly labelled ads or offer venues a highlighted listing. Neither will change which venues we list or what we say about them.
