There's not much to it, and nobody minds if it's your first time.
Ten minutes in the heat. A minute or two in the sea. Five minutes wrapped in a towel, doing nothing at all. Then once more.

We list 219 public saunas and ice bath venues across the island, in 31 of the 32 counties. Dublin and Cork have the most, then Kerry, Wicklow and Galway. New ones open every month, so if you know one we're missing you can add it.
A sauna on or right beside the shore, so you can cool down in the sea between rounds. In Ireland they're usually small timber or barrel saunas, often wood-fired, set up on a beach, pier or harbour wall and booked by the session.
Shared sessions at outdoor and sea saunas usually cost somewhere around €15 to €30 each. Private hire for a group costs more. Prices change by venue and time of day, so check the venue's own booking page.
Usually, yes. Most outdoor saunas are small and run booked sessions, and weekend mornings fill up first. Some take walk-ins when there's room, but booking ahead is safer.
130 of the venues we list have a cold plunge, ice bath or sea swim right beside the sauna. The ice baths page lists them by county.
Listing is free. Add yours, or correct the details we have, in a couple of minutes.
