Only Heat & Horses is a wood-fired sauna built into a fully converted horsebox, parked on the shore at Oysterhaven Bay, about 12 minutes' drive from Kinsale and 35 from Cork city. A big window looks out over the bay, and the sea is right there for the cold part.

About Only Heat & Horses Sauna

When we checked, a shared hour cost €20, with up to six people per session, and sessions ran on Mondays, Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Friday to Sunday. Private sessions for up to eight people, and bookings outside the usual hours, are arranged directly by phone or email.

You're free to go back and forth between the sauna and the sea as often as you like during your hour.

Reviewers love the idea of a converted horsebox, and call it a proper Irish-style sauna with a big window onto the bay.
