Black Barrel is a wood-fired sauna on the American Pier at Whitepoint, on the western edge of Cobh. It sits right at the water's edge, so the cold part of the session is Cork Harbour itself: out of the heat and straight into the sea.

About Black Barrel Sauna

If you'd rather not dip in the sea, there's a shower just outside the sauna to cool down. Hour-long shared sessions are booked online, half-hour sessions cost €10 cash on arrival, and walk-ins are welcome when there's space. The whole sauna can be booked for a group of up to six for €90 an hour.

Slots are released week by week and depend on the tide, so check the booking page before you set off.
